THERE ARE TWO WAYS TO BE A MISSIONARY
SOME ARE CALLED TO GO. OTHERS ARE CALLED TO SEND.
Not everyone is called to travel to Honduras, but everyone can play a role in the mission. Every mission is built upon two groups of people: those who go & those who send. Both are essential. Both share in the fruits of the mission.
As a missionary, you are not simply raising funds for a trip—you are inviting others to become part of something much larger than themselves. Through their prayers, encouragement, & financial support, family members, friends, coworkers, & fellow parishioners become partners in bringing Christ's love to the people of Honduras.
When a supporter helps send a missionary, they are helping provide medical care to the sick, catechesis to children, support to struggling families, & hope to communities that often have very little. Every prayer offered, every donation made, & every act of encouragement contribute to the mission's impact.
For this reason, we encourage every missionary to build a team of supporters who will journey alongside them. Some may be able to give financially. Others may commit to praying daily for the mission. Still others may simply offer encouragement & share your mission story.
The Honduras Mission is not accomplished by those who travel alone. It is accomplished by an entire community of believers answering God's call together. When you invite others to support your mission, you are not asking for a favor—you are offering them an opportunity to participate in God's work.

MISSION FUNDRAISING REQUIREMENTS
Each missionary is responsible for raising funds to support participation in the annual Honduras Mission. Please note that the required fundraising amount may vary from year to year based on changes in airfare, transportation, lodging, & mission-related expenses.
Funds raised help cover your transportation, lodging, & meals while in Honduras, as well as contribute to the overall mission budget, including catechetical supplies, medicines, medical/dental supplies & equipment, community outreach projects, & expenses related to our clergy serving the mission.
2027 FUNDRAISING SCHEDULE
The following fundraising milestones have been established for the 2027 mission:
$200 Initial Deposit due with your Mission Registration by 01/30/27.
Registration will remain open until all mission slots have been filled.
$800 Total Raised by 03/31/27.
This amount includes your initial $200 deposit.
$1,500 Total Raised by 04/30/27.
This minimum required amount includes all previous payments & donations received toward your fundraising goal.
Airfare Confirmation Due by 04/30/27.
Missionaries are responsible for purchasing their own airline tickets.
Arrival & departure airport: Tegucigalpa (XPL).
Purchasing tickets early may result in significant savings.
Remaining Balance Due by 05/31/27.
Any remaining funds needed to meet the final mission fundraising goal of $2,000 should be submitted by this date.
FUNDRAISING SUPPORT
Each missionary will receive access to a personal Managed Missions fundraising portal. This portal will help track donations, monitor progress toward fundraising goals, & provide automated reminders regarding upcoming deadlines & required actions.
HOW TO DONATE
Friends, family members, & mission supporters may contribute to an individual missionary's fundraising goal or donate to the general mission fund. Visit our TAKE ACTION page & follow the instructions to make a secure online donation.
IMPACT
Tell people what it is that we’re doing, our challenges & what we are trying to improve.
This is a mission that anyone can get behind because it does genuine service by helping people desperately in need.
It is charity, it is justice, it is healthcare, it is preaching the Gospel!

INSPIRE
We can save a dwindling Catholic community & improve their health & well-being. This is paramount. This is real. This is measurable.
In 2014, at our kickoff Mass, only one person received Communion. At the end of the week, when our priests had heard their confessions, many more were able to receive our Lord.
