Growth of the spirit since our first mission in 2014.

Our monumental growth has been primarily in the practice of the Catholic faith & the spirit of the communities that we serve.

WHAT WE’VE ACHIEVED

  • Expansion of the Catholic faith.

  • Enhancement of educational programs & on-going curriculums.

  • Improved building infrastructure.

  • Introduction to sustainable electricity.

  • Introduction to a Clean Water Initiative.

  • Expansion of Medical/Dental & Vision services.

  • Systematic distribution of supplies.

  • Immediate sustenance relief: COVID-19.

The original vision continues through today while we grow both their spirit & our spirit through our connections.

The families are attending more services &receiving more sacraments while spreading the Good News to other communities. A priest or nun previously visited these communities about two or three times a year. With our help, they now visit these communities more than once a month.

In 2014, we only had a few baptisms. In 2015, we had more baptisms plus added first communions. In 2016, we had 10 Catholic weddings. In February of 2017, we had 12 confirmations during the dedication of a new chapel.

In 2014, we helped La Colonia build a new chapel & El Mirador expand theirs. We wired both of these chapels for future electricity & La Colonia received electricity in 2016 with El Mirador in 2017. After our first mission trip, La Colonia reached out to Las Brisas & helped them restore an abandoned chapel. We assisted Esperancita in building a new chapel because similar to El Mirador,  they had outgrown theirs. These houses of worship are a vital center of each community and are used nearly every day.

2016 was another major growth year as we started serving Las Brisas & Esperancita. The Catholic spirit in Esperancita was already thriving so mission leaders were learning from them. They were very appreciative of our medical and dental services. We helped all four communities extend their schools beyond the sixth grade. We also partnered with Water With Blessings to train Water Women to provide clean water in all four communities. This is improving the health of the people & especially the children.

In more recent years, we have built additional school classrooms & a computer lab, supplied laptops & audit/visual equipment, added community swing sets plus sponsored several high school students to extend their studies. In 2019, we expanded our medical action plan to include Ophthalmology services during our annual mission trip.
