Deacon Mike Mims, the coordinator of our parish mission to Honduras, will be hosting an information meeting on Wednesday, January 29 at 7:00pm in the AMR.
Anyone and everyone is invited to attend, even if you feel you have a slight desire to go on our mission. This will equip you to make the right and blessed decision.
We will cover various topics such as the history of these two communities we will be serving, the mission of peace from Franciscan University of Steubenville, the local communities, parishes and personnel that we will be working with, as well as the different types of work needed and the costs associated with going.
Perhaps most crucially is that people realize a mission is not done by some super-pious spiritual loner. Mission is done by the whole community. Our parish, as a parish, is sending our parishioners to bring healing, teaching and the sacraments into the lives of these great people. As such, it will be our parish as a parish that will support, encourage, and intercede for those who are sent on mission and for those to whom the mission goes.
Bring an open heart tomorrow!
